– Filigree football was not to be expected in the district league derby between BC Attaching and SVA Palzing.
"It was rock hard," said SVA trainer Gianluca Dello Buono.
He had prepared his players for it.
Nevertheless, they seemed surprised by the Attachingers, who earned the 2-0 (0-0) victory through uncompromising duel leadership.
And thus ended a series of seven defeats.
The BCA footballers have had little reason to celebrate in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, coach Enes Mehmedovic managed to motivate his players and not let resignation germinate.
What also played into the coach's hands was the return of Sebastian Aigner and captain Mathias Staudigl.
The two midfielders formed the double six and ensured a stable center.
They played a large part in the fact that the guests from Palzing were not given access.
With every ball loss, self-confidence shrinks
The SVA was overwhelmed with the energetic attachingers.
The tailwind after the 4-1 win against Rohrbach a week ago turned within a few minutes and came strongly from the front.
Because with every ball loss, your own self-confidence sank, while the opponent pushed.
The only positive from the guests' point of view was that despite the optical superiority of the Attachingers, it was not dangerous in front of their own goal and they went into the break with a goalless draw.

The people of Ampertal would probably have traded the result for Marcel Radlmaier's injury.
The captain crashed into Manuel Thalhammer at the end of the first round.
"Marcel broke his collarbone and will probably be out until the winter break," reported Dello Buono.
A low blow for Palzinger, who could think of little without their central player.
Ivan Rakonic was still close to the opening goal, but BCA keeper Hans Gamperl deflected the ball to the crossbar.

Michael Wellenhofer slips up
At the other end, Michael Wellenhofer made a crucial mistake: the Palzing goalkeeper let a corner slip through his fingers and had to watch as Daniel Prokisch made it 1-0 (76').
Ten minutes later, Marvin Haug made it 2-0 after Didier Nguelefack's preliminary work (86').
Attaching managed to liberate themselves – the result was a setback for Palzing.
Both coaches demonstrated how friendly and fair it can be despite a tough 90 minutes.
As announced, Mehmedovic and Dello Buono met in the club restaurant.
"The pizza tasted very good," said Mehmedovic.
