The question of whether one insists on pent roofs in Dietersheim's new building area on the Anger or whether gable roofs are allowed is open after the debate in the building committee.

Eching / Dietersheim

- Actually, in the case of the 25 semi-detached houses and the three to five apartment blocks that are being built on Dietersheimer Anger, it should have been pent roofs. So far, everyone has agreed on that. The reason was that the expansion of the attic floors would create more living space. Now that a different orientation of the houses is being considered, the builders have increasingly wanted to have pitched roofs - because they are better suited for photovoltaics.

“The monopitch roofs open on me, the builders don't want that,” complained Otmar Dallinger (FW). Georg Bartl (CSU) promptly agreed with him. “The landowners want gable roofs on top,” insisted Bartl. They received support from Angelika Pflügler (Greens). She stated: “The most important thing about the roof shape is the energetic use.” Building authority manager Thomas Bimesmeier calmed the minds by pointing out that one is “still totally flexible here”. It is enough to specify the roof pitch and height in the development plan. Carsten Seiffert (SPD) took the view that one should “not force anything over” the building buyers. Bernhard Wallner (CSU) spoke out in favor of a uniform solution: "Not one like this and one like that - all roofs should be the same". Pflügler countered this, that one can and should imagine different roof shapes.

Thaler: "Postpone, decide nothing and ask for patience."

A state of affairs that prompted Bimesmeier to make a suggestion: “We make suggestions and talk to the owners.

We are not making a decision today and will report in October. ”Only with multi-storey apartment buildings you should stick to pitched roofs.

A possibility that city hall chief Sebastian Thaler also considered.

He closed the roof shape debate with the words: "Postpone, decide nothing and ask for patience."

That leaves time to respond to further objections from the builders.

They had criticized the branch roads, which they considered to be too wide.

There were also doubts as to whether a second sidewalk would be needed on Neufahrner Strasse.

The former met with a willingness to compromise in the committee, the latter rather not.

It remains to be seen what the “Dietersheim Anger” development plan will look like in the end.
