The incident occurred in the morning (Saturday) at the popular resort of Hurghada located on the west bank of the Red Sea in Egypt and located near the Sinai Peninsula.

Israeli divers on vacation in Sinai said that the Egyptian diving instructors in the area had received an official notification from the authorities in the country that all water sports activities have been suspended until the incident is investigated.

Among the frozen activities are scuba diving and snorkeling.
