The Israeli astronaut, who will soon take off, will take the children's game with him - which will symbolize the miracle of the mission • In the absence of gravity, the spinning top will continue to move •

In less than three months, the Israeli astronaut Eitan Steve will take off for the International Space Station as part of the "Sky" mission, and among the objects with which he will take off will also be found - a spinning top.

The beloved childhood game will be taken into space and will demonstrate the connection between the ancient Jewish tradition and the innovation and progress that the mission will bring with it.

The spinning top will symbolize the technological miracle of sending man into space.

The conditions in space, in the absence of gravity, will allow the spinning top to keep moving non-stop so that the rotation will not end.

While lighting candles at the Israeli Consulate in Houston, Texas, Steve gave Mayor Sylvester Turner a spinning top.

Turner congratulated the Jewish community, wished Eitan a fascinating journey and encouraged the expansion of cooperation between Israel and Houston.

"I told him I would take a spinning top with me to the space station that would allow me to demonstrate how it operates in space under micro-gravity conditions and without friction that would cause it to slow down and stop. This is how the earth rotates, without friction and without pause."

The "Sky" mission, led by the Ramon Foundation and the Israel Space Agency in the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, is intended to inspire the younger generation, promote and expand the Israeli space industry, and reveal groundbreaking Israeli art that will engage in human travel to outer space.

Eitan will provide educational activities for Israeli children directly from the Hebrew Space Station and will perform a record number of experiments for Israeli industry.

Hasmonean coins were located

On the last day of the holiday: Detectives from the Central Unit of the Jerusalem District located dozens of ancient coins from various ancient periods, of great archaeological value, in the home of a resident of the east of the city.

The suspect, in his 30s, was arrested for questioning, and the archeological items were taken to the unit's offices, where they were initially examined by representatives of the Antiquities Authority.

Among the items seized: a Hasmonean coin from the time of Matityahu Antigonus from the first century BCE on which the temple lamp stands, a seal ring from the biblical period with an inscription in ancient Hebrew, and an oil candle from the Hasmonean period.
