In the Dominican Republic, the country that treasures some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, the inhabitants nevertheless feel a true devotion to rivers. It is in the streams, tributaries and streams where the great dates that mark a life are celebrated, where they eat, dance and drink. The photographer Juan Manuel Díaz Burgos has captured the essence of "those places that invite you to forget about everything" in his project Flows, which will be exhibited at the Cartagena Town Hall from July 8. The photographs, taken between 2009 and 2019, are a celebration and a tribute to water, the element that drags everything along or through which everything flows.
