It was making a U-turn when one of its wheels found itself in the void, at the edge of a 30-meter ravine.

His reflexes probably saved his life.

On Wednesday, a 21-year-old woman was carrying out a delicate maneuver in a car, in Haut-Doubs, when she almost found herself at the bottom of a ravine.

It turned around, and one of its wheels ended up in a vacuum according to local media.

The woman jumped from her car, which ended up in a ravine, 30 meters below according to firefighters interviewed by France Bleu.

The vehicle crashed into another car that was parked below, without causing any casualties.

More fear than harm then.

The woman called the fire department herself, and was only slightly injured.

This is not the first car crash recorded in recent days.

On Sunday, in the Aisne, an automobile fell from a 25-meter-high bridge.

Inside were a man and a woman, victims of bruises and fractures.

In Finistère, also Sunday, a young man born in 2000 lost his life at the wheel, when his car fell from a bridge.

In France, each year, around 3,500 people die in road accidents.

In 2020, the figures had been historically low (2,780 people died on the road), a decrease attributed to confinement which reduced journeys.
