ROME, APR 27 -

The fascinating castle of the Colombaia in Trapani, a

majestic fortress island that with its octagonal tower stands out against the Egadi's scenery and that the restoration aims to transform into a laboratory of a new way of enhancing and returning a good to the community cultural.

The Real poor hotel in Naples

with its imposing architecture.

The former tobacco factory of Palermo, the ancient citadel of the old port of Trieste, the waterfront of Reggio Calabria

with the suggestive project imagined by Zaha Hadid.

There is also funding for massive restoration operations and more, in the part of the Recovery plan intended for culture,

a total of 14 interventions on as many "great cultural attractors" as the legislator defines them, on which investments for a total of 1.46 billion euros are authorized. "

Interventions spread throughout the country - the Minister of Culture Franceschini tells ANSA - which improve the beauty of our cities both through recovery projects and through important processes of urban regeneration ".

The minister is certain," culture will guide the restart of the country ", he reiterates, pronouncing a phrase that he has been repeating for days as a mantra to also underline" the different awareness "and" the new centrality of culture "testified by the substantiality of the intervention of over six billion guaranteed to the sector by relaunch developed by the government.

Ambitious and important projects, developed with the collaboration and participation of local authorities and in many cases loudly requested by the communities, as it was for the suggestive Colombaia of Trapani, whose tower is recognized in the emblem of the city.

And for the Franchi Stadium in Florence, an excellence designed by Pierluigi Nervi and which was in danger of losing forever and which was included in the list by popular acclaim.

However, large investments in the strategy of the ministry led by Franceschini and the government also aim to dampen the ferocious impact of the crisis on the territories and therefore to offer new meeting places, spaces for study and research.

But also tourism and job alternatives.

This is the case of the Trapani fortress, a part of which will be destined for hospitality, but also the idea underlying the relaunch of the historic railways that should lead post-pandemic world tourism on alternative routes to the great cities of art. While at the same time the aim is to improve the image of the cities to make them more lively, liveable and attractive for the community and tourists. In practice, interventions "which are a bit of a convergence point between national demands and local needs", explain the ministry technicians who put them together.

The lion's share is done by restorations in large cities, with the recovery of spaces and architecture to be used for cultural activities, libraries, museums, research centers, meeting places.

This is the case of the old port of Trieste (40 million), of the urban redevelopments of Bari (75 million), Palermo (33 million), Naples (100 million) and Reggio Calabria (53 million), of the construction of the libraries of Turin and Milan (101 million) and the recovery of the Florence stadium (95 million), interventions, including the latter, which have strong implications on the layout of urban contexts. Four interventions are intended for the recovery of areas of the heritage that remained marginal, as is the case of the Roman museum system (105.9 million), the enhancement of the Forts overlooking Genoa (69.7 million), the recovery of the Fortress of Trapani (27 million ), the redevelopment of other historic buildings to be used by the Venice Biennale (169 million). Two are dedicated to the landscape such as the reorganization of the naturalistic areas of the Po Delta (100 million) and the aid for slow mobility with the financing of historic trains and paths (435 million).

Franceschini also recalls the intervention for the relaunch of the villages, the Recovery Art, the anti-seismic safety of the churches, the relaunch of the digitization of heritage, the strengthening of the film industry, the aid to Cinecittà at the Experimental Center of Cinematography, the Cineteca national.

"Now we need to focus on the contemporary, give way to express themselves and nurture the creativity of today's talents," he says

. In all, for the moment there are 6 billion and 675 million. "A great investment in culture that will help the country to restart".
