As a pedestrian, you cannot be flashed? In Northeim, a speed trap set for walking speed has now shown the opposite - and some made fun of it.

With wide-ranging speed controls, the police in several federal states want to slow down speeders on Wednesday.

In Lower Saxony, however, the authorities also trapped numerous rather slow road users last week.

52 people in the city of Northeim were flashed by a mobile lightning system in the city in southern Lower Saxony - on foot, mind you.

The street in question is a former part of the pedestrian zone, where walking speed is required, said a spokeswoman for the district.

Speak a maximum of 15 kilometers per hour.

There are recordings on social media of how runners make fun of being flashed through the measuring system while sprinting.

According to the district, several pedestrians were flashed.

Measurements were taken from April 12th to 15th. In addition to pedestrians, 20 cyclists, 63 cars and 2 trucks were caught.

Runners flashed at 26 km / h

The measurement was only triggered from 20 kilometers an hour - "exceeding" pedestrians in a hurry would not be punished.

According to a report by the “Hessische Niedersächsische Allgemeine”, the system registered 26 kilometers per hour for the first runner.

A car driver in Grevenbroich in North Rhine-Westphalia who was caught in a 50 km / h zone in town was faster.

According to the police, however, she tried to avoid being fined with a reference to a missing place name sign.

Therefore, she could not see that she was already in a built-up area.

In fact, police officers discovered the place-name sign on the ground in front of the mobile measuring system.

It was excavated along with its concrete foundation.

But this is of no use to the driver: the place-name sign only marks a different part of the city.

Even in front of the sign, she was in town.
