(ANSA) - NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 24 - The extraordinary G20 on Afghanistan "will focus on the issues of humanitarian aid, security and human rights" and "must give maximum support to these objectives".
Mario Draghi formalizes the initiative of the Italian presidency of the G20 at the Palazzo diVetro, evoking the risk of terrorism and a "catastrophe".
"The humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is the most immediate and shared concern, also due to the approach of winter," he explains.
"But we must also prevent the country from becoming a threat to international security", he warns.
