Shots of firefighters from the USA.
A fire engine makes its way on a dirt road in the wilderness, right through a roaring forest fire.
The video of the fire brigade was released without sound.
It seems apocalyptic.
The so-called Tamarack Fire is raging in the western United States, on the border between the states of California and Nevada.
It is one of dozens of devastating forest fires that have started in the United States, primarily in the north and west.
New ones are added almost every day.
The authorities believe that the Tamarack fire was triggered by a lightning strike.
Extreme heat waves and drought caused this year's fire season to start much earlier than usual.
Thousands of firefighters are deployed across the country.
Sometimes the smallest spark is enough to ignite a raging bush fire after weeks of record temperatures without precipitation.
The wildfires have already destroyed hundreds of square kilometers of forest.
Thousands of people had to leave their homes.
Valerie O'dai, Volunteer
»I was up on the mountain yesterday and could see the devastation - and the grief of the people returning to the homes they have lived in all their lives.
People who literally built it with their own hands and now it's gone. "
The smoke from the fires in the western United States even darkens the sky in New York on the east coast, 4,000 kilometers away.
Meanwhile, the fire department in California is trying to use a special train to at least protect the railroad tracks from the rapidly spreading flames. They water the rails and the surrounding areas.
At least as best it can: the water jet only reaches a good 20 meters.
