Homs-Sana

The Directorate of Health Affairs in the Homs City Council intensified monitoring operations over commercial and industrial activities in the city, and imposed 584 seizures on activities violating health conditions, and handled 295 complaints of health damage during the first half of this year.

The director of health affairs in the council, Dr. Kifah Othman, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that most of the seizures were imposed for not cutting a health card for workers and for not wearing work clothes, indicating that a large part of the seizures were imposed on the meat sector in terms of selling meat slaughtered outside the slaughterhouse or minced meat.

Other seizures imposed by the Directorate of Health Affairs, according to Othman, include violations of hygiene, poor storage of foodstuffs, exposing them to dust, placing them in unsanitary containers, and seizing expired materials.

Regarding the complaints that the directorate dealt with, Othman said that complaints were received from citizens about some individuals raising birds in housing and making annoying noises, as appropriate action was taken against violators.
