Governor Jamran stressed in a statement to reporters that the governorate is keen to overcome the difficulties that farmers face in their work, secure their requirements, and facilitate the process of receiving wheat from them without any obstacles, indicating that the wheat is received from them in full, regardless of its quality, and then distributed according to its type, either to mills, silos or the public institution for multiplication. He pointed out that the farmers' needs of diesel fuel will be fully secured during the next season.

In turn, the Director of Agriculture in Damascus Countryside, Eng. Irfan Ziadeh, stated in a similar statement that the climatic conditions have somewhat affected the wheat crop this season, as high temperatures led to the atrophy of part of the grain, while the frost that occurred in the past months caused a decrease in the specific weight of wheat, pointing to preparations made In the governorate of Damascus countryside to protect the crop from fires, an ambulance committee was formed in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture, the Damascus Countryside Fire Brigade and the Civil Defense to distribute firefighting vehicles in the fields to avoid fires. Agricultural diesel was provided to farmers and half the need of nitrogen fertilizer for this season.

For his part, the head of the branch of the General Union of Farmers in Damascus and its countryside, Muhammad Khalouf, stated that the assistance of the farmer is being followed up on his land and during the delivery of his crop, stressing the union's keenness to secure the farmer's needs of diesel and fertilizers.

A number of farmers who came to deliver their wheat crop to SANA indicated that the delay in rain this season affected the quality and size of the grain and reduced productivity compared to last year, hoping that this matter will be taken into account while determining the quality of the crop.

Farmer Abdel-Aal al-Khatib from Zakia came to the Kiswa silo to deliver a ton and a half of his land crop, noting the ease of procedures to help the farmer during delivery. Increasing the farmer's assistance by securing his supplies of manure and diesel.

As for the farmer Khaled Muhammad, who was following the process of harvesting his crop on his land in the Derkhbeya area, he explained to SANA that the total area he planted is 30 dunums, and the average production per dunum has reached about 300 kg, stressing that he will deliver the entire crop to Syria for grain.

While withdrawing wheat samples for examination before receiving them, the health expert, Nashat Al-Shayeb, explained that the samples are drawn from the packed wheat within the bags and taken to the secret room, and after processing and sorting, they go to the analysis expert to determine the degree of specification, pointing out that this season’s wheat varied in quality between good and medium.
