Eight fires extinguished in Tartous

The members of the fire brigade in Tartous Governorate today extinguished eight fires, most of them in agricultural lands, and the damage was limited to materials.

The commander of the fire brigade, Colonel Samir Shamma, stated that the fires were distributed in the regions of Marqia and Dahr Bashir and next to the cement factory, in addition to a fire in one of the furnaces of the Raml neighborhood in the city of Tartous, which the firefighting personnel only cooled without any damage because the owner of the oven was quick to use the self-extinguishing means in the oven and call Fire brigade, stressing the importance of having such tools in every home and facility.

Shamma pointed out that during the past two days, the governorate also witnessed many fires in different areas of the governorate, the number of which exceeded 19, the most dangerous of which was in the Dahr al-Souda region, which required long working hours to be extinguished, and the intervention of four cars from the fire brigade and another car from agriculture.

Shamma called on citizens to take precautions and not set fire to clean agricultural lands and request immediate assistance by calling the toll-free number 113 in the event of any fire because the speed of the arrival of firefighting vehicles was able to limit the spread of fire and mitigate its damage.
