EDF has not even passed the first half of January that the year 2022 promises to be trying for him. Its stock price fell Friday morning by more than 20%, before closing at -15%, after the broadcast in quick succession, Thursday evening, of two very bad news for the electrician. In a first press release, the group led by Jean-Bernard Lévy first quantified the losses linked to the freezing of electricity prices for consumers and businesses, decided a few hours earlier by the government. The amount of the invoice is still uncertain. But EDF estimates it at between 7.7 and 8.4 billion euros. An impact so massive that the financial objective for 2022 is null and void as of January 13, the group judged. It therefore withdrew its forecast of net financial debt on Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization).
