The display Michel-Ange Flori must be heard this Thursday as part of an investigation for "public insult on the person of the Republic"

It was not his first attempt.

The controversial poster Michel-Ange Flori was recently talked about for having made up Emmanuel Macron as Hitler, on giant posters in Toulon and La Seyne-sur-Mer, with the slogan: "Obey, get vaccinated".

They remained visible for about two weeks.

We see, in a photomontage, the President of the Republic disguised as Hitler, wearing an armband very similar to that of the NSDAP, the fascist party of the Führer.

Except that the abbreviation has been changed to LREM, La République en Marche, the presidential party.

The Head of State has mandated a Parisian law firm to file a complaint against Michel-Ange Flori for "public insult on the person of the Republic", according to information from France Bleu Provence.

The display must be heard Thursday at the police station, as part of the investigation opened by the Toulon prosecutor's office.

A few days ago, on his Facebook profile, Michel-Ange Flori said he was “serene” and thanked all his support, while denouncing a “variable geometry freedom of expression”.

"It is never pleasant to be summoned by the police, we are never quiet.

This poster is excessive and it is the principle of caricature.

But that's not offensive, ”said his lawyer, master Didier Hollet, joined by France Bleu.

The argument of the caricature was already advanced by Michel-Ange Flori in 2019, in summary proceedings initiated by BFMTV. He had criticized the channel on its posters, with the slogan "The police talk to you every day on BFMTV", at the time of the yellow vests demonstrations. The display had been fined 32,000 euros for infringement of trademark rights. "But the file is not yet purged on the merits" according to his advice.

In 20 years, Michel-Ange Flori, who has 350 billboards, thinks he has put up a hundred provocative posters, not hesitating to scratch Nicolas Sarkozy on the Libyan financing affair.

The pace has accelerated for about a year: "I have become a weekly", he quips in the Latest News from Alsace, inspired among others by Alexandre Benalla, the former collaborator of the Head of State, police violence or even the commitment of caregivers at the height of the health crisis.
