Trailer "The Crown" Season 4 (Netflix)
Early Monday morning, the 73rd Central Emmy Awards ceremony was hosted by comedian Cedric the Entertainer ("New in the Neighborhood"). Unlike last year, when the ceremony was virtual because of the Corona and received a lot of criticism, this time the event was held at the Microsoft Hall in Los Angeles in front of a partial audience of candidates and their guests, and with another focus in London for the abundance of English candidates and winners.
The most prizes were won by "The Crown" and "Queen Gambit" - each of which won 11 prizes. They are followed by "Saturday Night Live" with eight wins, including for the best variety-sketch show, "Ted Lasso" with four, and "Hacks" and "The Secrets of Easton" with three wins each.
In the absence of some of the academy's favorite series like "Heirs" and "Barry," which the Corona has delayed and is still delaying their new seasons, the door has been opened for other series to win an award for the first time. Thus the fourth season of "The Crown" won the Best Drama Award, after losing in its first three seasons (to "The Story of a Slave," "Game of Thrones" and "Heirs").
"The Crown" even took all the significant acting awards in the drama categories: Olivia Coleman won the Best Actress award for her role as Queen Elizabeth. She defeated, among others, her mother Corinne, who played Princess Diana, and one of the reasons why the fourth season of the series gained an even higher profile compared to its predecessors. Prince Charles, on the other hand, came out again with his hand on the top: Josh O'Connor won Best Actor in a Drama Award.
Also in the sub-categories the "Crown" dominated unchallenged.
Tobias Menzies (who was not even nominated for a third season) won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Prince Charles.
He defeated, among others, the late Michael K. Williams, who was a candidate for "Lovecraft Country" (voting by members of the academy ended even before his death).
Gillian Anderson also won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Margaret Thatcher, in
addition to being awarded the Guest Actress Award in the Drama Series to Claire Foy, She is Queen Elizabeth for the first two seasons of the series.
Poe has already won for her role in the Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Drama, for the second season.
"The Crown" has also won awards for writing, directing, casting, filming and editing in drama.

In the comedy complexes, Apple Tivi Plus' "Ted Lasso", which was the favorite to win, did win the best comedy award, along with a host of other awards. Jason Sodeikis, co-creator of the series and its star, won the first Emmy of his life in the Best Actor category in comedy.
Four actors in the series were nominated in the same category - Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. The award went to the most prominent of them, Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent. He defeated Brendan Hunt (Coach Byrd), Nick Muhammad (Assistant Coach Nathan) and Jeremy Swift (Higgins).
"Ted Lasso" also won Hannah Woodingham the Best Actress award in a comedy series. Woodingham, who plays boss Rebecca, has defeated, among others, her girlfriend in the series, Juno Temple (as Kylie) as well as three "Saturday Night Live" stars: Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Edie Bryant.
HBO Max's "Hacks" (in Israel Bite and Hot) lost in the best comedy category, but won several significant awards: Gene Smart won the Best Leading Actress award in comedy - her first Emmy as a lead actress and the fourth she has won throughout her career (two For a guest role in "Frazier" and one as a supporting actress in "Samantha Who?").
"Hacks" also won awards for writing and directing in comedy - two categories that "Ted Lasso" was expected to win as well.

In the categories of the mini-series, which included some of the most prominent and talked-about content on screen, "Queen Gambit" surpassed series like "Destroy You" and "The Secrets of Eastown." "Queen Gambit" also won awards for directing in a mini-series, casting, design for a period series, costumes and more.
However, Kate Winslet won Best Actress in a Mini-Series for her role in "The Secrets of Easttown," Julian Nicholson won Best Supporting Actress for the same series, while Mikhail Cole took home the award for Best Mini-Series Writing for the series starring , "Destroy You".
"Last Week with John Oliver" won the award for the sixth time in its history for the Best Variety Talk Show award, as well as an award for writing. Oliver in his speech said he hoped Conan would win, given the fact that the veteran comedian finished his night show this year - in its various incarnations - after nearly thirty years.
The ceremony held tonight was preceded this time by three Emmy Creative Awards ceremonies (as opposed to two in previous years), which were held over two days on 11 and 12 September. Already in it, the three leading series have won several awards in the technical and artistic categories. In this framework, awards were given to guest actors, to the animated series, dubbing, docu-works, reality shows, children's programs, casting, photography and much more.
At these ceremonies, awards were also given to several series that missed out on tonight's wins, including Disney Plus' The Mandalorian ', which garnered seven awards, Netflix's Love, Death and Robots' with four,' Wonder Plus' (Disney Plus) with three, and the excellent animated series " Adult Swim's Primal "surprised and won at the expense of series like" Big Mouth "and" The Simpsons. " The docu-award was given to the acclaimed Apple Boys movie "Boys State".
In the preliminary texts, Maya Rudolph also won for the second time in a row two awards: the guest actress in the comedy for directing "Saturday Night Live", and for her dubbing in the animated comedy "Big Mouth".
In the content count according to the broadcasters, for the first time in the history of Emmy, Netflix overtakes HBO: thanks to "The Crown" and "Queen Gambit", the streaming giant won 46 statuettes, compared to 19 for HBO (combined with HBO Max).
Disney Plus won 14, Apple TV 11, and NBC 8, all for Saturday Night Live.
Below are all the winners in the main categories at the night ceremony and its predecessors.
The edited and translated ceremony will be broadcast tonight (Monday) at 21:30, on yes TV Comedy, yes VOD and STINGTV.
