Lothar Matthäus and Hasan Salihamidzic have fought each other in the recent past.

Now comes the astonishing approximation.

Munich – One thing is certain: Hasan Salihamidzic has won admirers in recent months.

Among other things, through the star transfers of Sadio Mané and Matthijs de Ligt, he has strengthened FC Bayern and initially silenced his critics.

Even Lothar Matthäus seems to have become one of these admirers.

The record national player was definitely one of the loudest critics of the Bayern sports board in the last two years.

From time to time Brazzo fired back: "I don't give a damn about what Lothar says," he said at the beginning of the year.

Matthew usually continued to tease.

Bayern's transfer summer obviously made him rethink.

Lothar Matthäus enthusiastic about Salihamidzic's work: "Grade one"

In his Sky column, Matthäus praises Salihamidzic's work effusively.

"I give Hasan Salihamidzic top marks for his transfer market activities," he writes appreciatively, before allowing himself a joke.

"Why?

Because I've wanted him to invite me out for coffee for a long time."

Will the Bosnian weaken with this offer?

"Joking aside.

The purchases and sales that Brazzo has made in this transfer window are great.” Not only did he like the top transfers like de Ligt and Mané, but also the reinforcements for the width.

Lothar Matthäus counts FC Bayern among the Champions League favorites

"With this team and this spirit, Bayern can once again have a say when it comes to winning the most important European club trophy," said Matthäus.

The relationship between the two seems - at least temporarily - to have actually improved.

As early as May, Matthäus reported on a discussion with Salihamidzic, at that time the most recent transfers had not yet been made.

The two now want to call more often, it said.

Even if the impression of the first games is positive - it's still too early to rate the Bayern transfers.

Brazzo could still give up three players

Nevertheless, the sports director will have collected some plus points that speak for a contract extension.

A topic that FC Bayern will soon tackle, because Brazzo's contract only runs until 2023.
