Due to technical problems, an Ethiopian Boeing 767-300 was reversed on Tuesday shortly after takeoff in West Africa and landed at the airport of Dakar, the capital of Senegal. The airline Ethiopian Airlines confirmed a corresponding incident in flight ET 908, without going into the circumstances of the incident.
"We apologize to our valued customers who were on board for the inconvenience," the airline also said on Twitter. All passengers would be rebooked on alternative flights. How many people sat aboard the plane, the airline did not say.

According to information from the JACDEC aviation accident office, there had been a technical problem with one of the two engines and a fire on the two-engine jet after take-off. About ten minutes later, however, the plane landed safely at the airport, where the fire had been quickly extinguished.
