Bank of China (Hong Kong) stated that on January 27, the bank was informed by an employee of Siu Sai Wan Branch (Address: No. 19, Richpeace Garden, Siu Sai Wan, Hong Kong) that he was initially diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

The branch will be closed from 28 January (Friday) until further notice.

At the same time, BOC Hong Kong stated that it will take corresponding epidemic prevention measures, including thorough cleaning and disinfection of the relevant branch, and arranging for all employees of the branch to be tested and quarantined at home.

The last time the employee went to work at the Xiaoxiwan branch was January 21 (Friday), and his body temperature was normal before going to work on that day, and he had no symptoms of discomfort.

The employee is mainly responsible for assisting in general customer inquiries and triage work in the lobby, and he wears a mask during work.

BOCHK also stated that all employees of the branch strictly abide by the requirements of the bank's epidemic prevention measures, including wearing masks and taking temperature checks.

The bank will continue to closely monitor the situation, maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection on relevant cases, and fully cooperate with the epidemic prevention work.

The bank added that it has always put the health and safety of customers and employees first, and has taken a series of epidemic prevention and hygiene measures at all branches, and customers entering branches are also required to take body temperature and wear masks.

In addition, BOCHK has also implemented special customer diversion and queuing arrangements to allow customers to maintain an appropriate distance and shorten their stay in branches.
