Photos of police officers were discovered plastered in several halls of buildings in Épinay-sur-Seine, (Seine-Saint-Denis) on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said on Thursday, from the National Assembly.

In total, 25 posters were identified, according to BFMTV.

These images printed on A4 sheets and pasted on the walls in the halls, are said to come from Facebook.

An investigation for "acts of intimidation" was opened by the Bobigny prosecutor's office and entrusted to the departmental security.

The police officers concerned, as well as the Paris police headquarters announced that they would file a complaint.

"A very clear message of threat"

“I mean to what extent these behaviors of disclosure of the personal identity and the personal life of these gendarmes putting forward their close relations, their personal photos […] is a shame.

I take this opportunity to condemn these completely reprehensible acts.

The police officers and the gendarmes are the children of the Republic and they must be protected since they protect us on a daily basis ”, defended Thursday Gérald Darmanin since the National Assembly on the occasion of the vote of the law on the Comprehensive security.
