Equal to the total annual deaths from cancer: 600,000 deaths from corona in the United States
Despite the success of the vaccination campaign and a decrease in the number of verified in Corona, the death toll from the virus has reached a dismal milestone.
The sheer number is equal to the number of Americans who died of cancer in 2019, and larger than any of the Baltimore or Milwaukee population.

Despite the success of the vaccination campaign and a decrease in the number of verified people in Corona, the number of deaths from the virus in the United States reached 600,000 people today (Tuesday).
The huge death toll, documented by Johns Hopkins University, is equal to the number of Americans who died of cancer in 2019, and larger than any Baltimore or Milwaukee population.
In total, the death toll from Corona worldwide stands at about 3.8 million people.
The dismal milestone came on the same day that California and New York lifted most of the Corona restrictions left on their borders, thus joining several other states in the states.
The first deaths in the United States as a result of the virus were recorded in early February 2020, and it took only four months until one hundred thousand deaths were recorded.
A year after the plague broke out, in February 2021, the United States reached half a million people who died from corona.

The vaccination campaign began in mid-December, and the number of people who have died from the virus in the United States has dropped to about 340 since its inception, after reaching a peak of more than 3,400 deaths per day in mid-January.
About 14,000 new verified cases are recorded daily, a dramatic decrease since the winter months, when about a quarter of a million cases were recorded daily.
U.S. President Joe Biden yesterday noted the milestone during his visit to Europe and said that although the number of new cases and deaths has dropped dramatically, "there are still too many lives lost," and "now is not the time to lose our vigilance."

More than 52 percent of Americans have received at least one dose of corona vaccine, while 44 percent have already been vaccinated with two doses, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
However, the demand for vaccines has dropped significantly, leaving many places with overdoses, while questioning the target set by Biden to partially vaccinate about 70% of the population by July 4th.
At this point, less than 65% of Americans have already been vaccinated.
