Some are electrified, others frustrated:

Erding – A Bavarian league team playing like unleashed Erding Gladiators beat the premier league team EHC Klostersee 8-2 goals (4-1, 2-0, 2-1) on Sunday evening and seems to be slowly getting into point-game form.

The Grafingers, on the other hand, shouldn't start the round that starts on Friday with a lot of self-confidence as they are promoted - and of all things it's going to the co-favorite EV Weiden.

In goal, Erding's coach Andy Becher relied on Patrick Mayer and Thomas Hingel for half a game each.

Both made good saves and, with Christoph Schedlbauer taking his birthday off, the Gladiators arguably have one of the best goalkeeping trios in the league.

After the absence of Dominik Gräubig due to illness, Marinus Schunda was the third EHC goalkeeper between the posts for the guests.

And you could feel sorry for him, because after a good twelve minutes he had reached behind him four times, but was often shamefully let down by his completely indisposed men in front.

Leon Abstreiter opened the scoring in Erding (5th), Mark Waldhausen followed up twice (8th, 12th) and Florian Zimmermann made it 4-0 (13th).

In the 18th minute, Marc Bosecker reduced the lead to 1:4 (18th).

Anyone who believed that this would be the starting signal for the Oberliga team to catch up was wrong.

The Gladiators then had the game largely under control, not least due to the fact that the Grafingers regularly received penalties - mostly after frustration fouls.

49 seconds after the restart, Abkampfer scored to make it 5:1, and in the 32nd minute Sebastian Busch, who had lost a tooth after a bad check in the first third, made it 6:1.

In the final third, just 17 seconds had been played when Florian Gaschke shortened the lead to 2:6, but Klostersee had already shot his powder.

At Erding, Ran Murphy, by direct acceptance after winning a face-off from Zimmermann (52nd), and Waldhausen in the majority (55th) ensured the final score of 8:2.

How frustrated Grafinger was was shown in the 56th minute by an action by Lynnden Pastachak.

He was all alone in his own third, then turned around and slapped a head-high shot towards one of the main referees - which he missed but still received a game penalty.
