[Brussels 27th Reuters]-European Union (EU) announced sanctions against Venezuela's Maduro administration on the 27th. Add 7 new security and intelligence officials to the sanction.
The EU argues that Venezuela's “serious” situation needs to end with a transition to a new election. Warned the Maduro administration that it was ready to introduce new economic sanctions.
“The serious situation cannot be ignored. To overcome the economic and political crisis in Venezuela facing hyperinflation and food shortages, talks to agree on a new presidential election are essential.” And expressed.
“Ensure that we are ready to work further on targeted measures to encourage transition through such negotiations,” he said.
The Venezuelan opposition party is demanding stronger sanctions by the EU and is likely to be disappointed with the measure.
The number of Venezuelan individuals who were subject to EU sanctions is now 25. The EU applied arms embargo to the country in November 2017.
