Euro women: serious injury for the Spanish Putellas

The Spanish Alexia Putellas, Ballon d'Or 2021, reported the rupture of the cruciate ligament in her left knee in training and will not be able to take part in the European Women's Football Championship, announced the Spanish selection in a statement.

"The tests carried out on the Spanish national team in the afternoon of Tuesday 5 July 2022, at the King Edward VII Hospital in London, confirmed that the captain of the Spanish women's national team suffers from a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee", reads the note.

Putellas, 28, was one of the most anticipated female Euro stars starting tomorrow in England.
