Thus the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, in a post on his Facebook page, hailed the victory of his country at Eurovision.
"Next year Ukraine will host the contest for the third time in history. We will do everything possible to make Mariupol the host city," adds Zelensky.
The EU leaders greet on Twitter the victory of the KalushOrchestra and Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin.
"Your song won our hearts tonight.
We celebrate your victory around the world.
The EU is with you ", writes the President of the European Commission Ursula von derLeyen." The hope is that next year's Eurovision can be hosted in Kiev in a free and united Ukraine ", adds the President of the European Council Charles Michel , also citing a few lines from the winning song, 'Stefania': "I will always find my way home, even if all roads are destroyed."
