Everyone is looking at Super-Gaedke in the derby

League leader FC Ismaning with his top scorer Daniel Gaedke is the clear favorite in the district derby of the Bayern soccer league at VfR Garching.

– The league leaders are in the city – and his journey is only five kilometers short: As the top of the Bavarian League South and therefore the towering favorite, FC Ismaning is making a guest appearance in the derby at VfR Garching (Friday, 7 p.m.).
Everything is actually clear on paper, because the people of Ismaning are currently celebrating a football for connoisseurs.
While Garching lost twice again this English week and have to prepare for a relegation battle.
"I've been looking forward to this game all week," says Garching coach Nico Basta.
Perhaps he has in mind that VfR conceded its only competitive defeat against Ismaning in 1994 in the district league.
Last season, Garching were the Derby champions with four points (2-0, 1-1), while the two drew twice in 2013/14.
Otherwise, there were regular test matches between the two clubs and few points of contact.
"Of course, the game is a derby for the native of Ismaningen," says FCI trainer Mijo Stijepic, "but I had nothing to do with Garching during my playing days."
The coach knows that after three great home games (three wins, 12:2 goals) he can now please his supporters with a guest game in the neighborhood.
The focus is inevitably Super-Gaedke.
The state league has really strong strikers from Nico Karger to Sascha Mölders, but the best is Daniel Gaedke with his unbelievable eight goals in six games.
Once this season, the Ismaninger was on the pitch for 90 minutes and missed exactly that game.
After Gaedke scored five of the eight goals after substitutions, he could also come off the bench in Garching.
The other strikers Elias Kollmann and Nikolai Davydov are definitely in the mood for the duel with the former club, in which they had unfortunate commitments.
And there is one gone: Stephan Thee.
The former professional with 135 appearances in the 3rd division (Unterhaching, Burghausen, Osnabrück) switched from VfR Garching to league rival VfB Hallbergmoos this week.
Thee wanted to change, which is why the departure of the leading player does not come as a complete surprise.
Another veteran has meanwhile clarified his future.
Dennis Niebauer is now officially a player in the second team and helps out as long as there are personnel problems.
He is also likely to come on as a substitute in the second half against Ismaning in order to be eligible to play in the second team.
Garching has nothing to lose and is really keen on Ismaning.
On the other hand, FCI coach Stijepic warns that the derby will start again from zero "and there are no easy opponents in this Bayern league".
The 1-1 draw at Dachau is a cautionary tale, "because I had the impression before the game that we had won."
He smiles away at the lead in the table because Stijepic only gives the table an initial meaning after ten match days.
