Expensive loss of control

A 23-year-old from Taufkirchen, who narrowly escaped prison, attacked and insulted other guests and then the police on April 9 of this year in front of the Erdinger Disco Weekend Club.

Erding - The fine of 10,000 euros imposed by judge Björn Schindler is steep.

It corresponds to a good half a year's salary for Post employees.

The Taufkirchener admitted that he got drunk that night and then lost control of himself.

He attacked several revelers, including some who just wanted to settle the argument.

Then he attacked the crews of four patrol cars.

He was charged with three counts of assault, five counts of insult, and threatening and resisting law enforcement officers.

He insulted and fought them even after being restrained and arrested on the way to the drunk tank.

He had 1.4 per mille during the night.

It was not the first time that the 23-year-old was on trial for violence.

Because as a geriatric nurse he had violently pushed an elderly woman, he was sentenced to eight months of youth imprisonment and is still on open probation.

In the current process, the slight man was penitent and insightful.

He has sworn off alcohol and regularly attends meetings with the Prop addiction treatment facility.

"I want to lead a normal life again," he said.

The fact that he freaked out in April was also due to his difficult situation and the fact that his girlfriend had left him.

The confession shortened the process considerably.

Judge Schindler only heard one of the officers deployed at the time as a witness.

Prosecutor David Bauer asked for eleven months imprisonment without parole.

Defense attorney Andreas Martin considered a fine, the amount of which he did not quantify, to be sufficient.

His client committed the first act when he was still a teenager, and he changed permanently.

Schindler sentenced the Taufkirchener to a fine of 200 daily rates of 50 euros each, i.e. 10,000 euros.

He, too, relieved the 23-year-old, who has a steady job again, of wanting to get back on the right path.

Detention would make that more difficult.

The verdict is not yet legally binding.
