The Quneitra Fire Brigade, in cooperation with the Forestry Department in the Directorate of Agricultural Preservation and the People, put out a huge fire that broke out in agricultural and pastoral lands in the village of Harfa in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

The commander of the Quneitra Fire Brigade, Colonel Firas Samara, told a SANA reporter today that more than 10 tanks from the regiment and the Directorate of Agriculture participated along with agricultural tractors for the people to control the fire that spread to large areas due to the wind and the difficulty of access due to the nature of the rugged mountainous land indicating that the fire extended to An area of ​​about 3000 acres.

In turn, the head of the forestry department in the Quneitra Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Ahmed Deeb, indicated that the fire damaged dozens of dunums planted with olive trees, cherries and figs, and hundreds of dunums of pastures on which livestock farmers in the village of Harfa depend.

And Harfa is a village belonging to the Qattana region in the governorate of Damascus countryside, located along the Quneitra governorate.
