In the murder trial for a deadly headshot in Neumünster, the Kiel district court imposed a life sentence.
The jury saw it as proven that the 33-year-old accused surprised and insidiously killed another man last New Year's morning after a dispute: "With a headshot," said the presiding judge of the jury, Stefan Becker, on Tuesday.
Kiel - This was "clearly established by a forensic medical report," he said.
He emphasized that this refutes the man's claim that the crime was in fact an accident.
According to the verdict, the insidious murder was preceded by a burglary, a traffic accident, attending New Year's Eve parties and an argument between the two men.
Perpetrator and victim knew each other from youth and come from Moldova.
The victim was 31 years old and died at the scene of the crime, a shared apartment above an auto repair shop.
With the verdict, the court followed the request of the public prosecutor's office, which considered insidious murder to be proven.
The defense attorney did not make a specific application and assumed reduced criminal responsibility.
