The recent success over BCF Wolfratshausen did the FC Penzberg district league team good. The mood is even so good that the coach has to brake.

The recent success over BCF Wolfratshausen did the FC Penzberg district league team good.

The mood is even so good that the coach has to brake.

Penzberg – Simon Ollert has been waiting longingly for scenes like this.

During the week he experienced smirking players who had so much fun in training that the coach of all people had to put the brakes on the fun.

"I'm the spoilsport who stands there with the admonishing finger," jokes Ollert, coach at the district league club 1. FC Penzberg.

The 5-0 win over the - admittedly very weak - BCF Wolfratshausen catapulted the Penzbergers into the district league in one go.

After four games one can say: They have arrived.

Two stories illustrate what's going on at the club and how he managed to turn things around.

One is about Maximilian Panholzer and his fight back onto the pitch.

In 2021, on August 11 to be precise, his cruciate ligament tore – in the derby with Wolfratshausen.

A year later, same opponent, almost identical date, he returned to the Penzberg starting eleven.

"It's amazing how he fought his way back," said Simon Ollert.

And who knows what an arduous path that is, since he himself was once out of action for almost two years.

Maximilian Panholzer impresses with his determination

Weeks before the season debut, Panholzer had contacted the coach from vacation.

In his message, the Antdorfer let it be known: he wanted to be back in the squad by the third matchday at the latest.

That's exactly how it happened, in Bad Heilbrunn Panholzer was on the team sheet.

Ollert emphasizes this determination.

The type of footballer who is Panholzer made a lasting impression on him.

"What a charisma he has, what calmness he brings in." That's why Ollert placed him in defensive midfield, despite his pronounced offensive gene.

"That's his thing." In addition, he can help the young team the most from there.

Panholzer "fully deserved his place on the starting grid because he's a winner," said Ollert.

Ollert is happy about "three awesome crazy goalkeepers"

The same can be said of Daniel Baltzer, goalkeeper and part of the liveliest part of the team at FCP.

What the three keepers do in training week after week is what Simon Ollert wants as a model for everyone else.

Goalkeeper coach Christian Vogel brings in so much fire.

Sometimes he puts on the gloves himself and challenges his younger protégés, Korbinian Neumaier and Daniel Baltzer.

He has “three awesome crazy goalkeepers” in the team, praises Simon Ollert.

Especially since both Baltzer and Neumaier aim to play regularly.

"The claim that I wish for the whole squad," emphasizes the coach.

He was “super excited” about his two goal preventers.

With his significant increase in experience and volume, Baltzer, 26, is currently just ahead of Neumaier, 19. The team currently needs his powerful speeches on the pitch and in the dressing room.

The Peißenberg Neumaier could only learn from that.

"There is no better situation for a young goalkeeper." As a police officer, Daniel Baltzer is often in demand at the weekend, which frees up enough playing time for Neumaier.

Baltzer will miss this Sunday (2 p.m.) on the small artificial turf of newly promoted FC Neuhadern because he injured his hand.

He hopes nothing bad.

Neumaier's next chance has come.

"The best solution for both of them," says Ollert.

"They're fun to watch."
