What if there is heavy rain again? ”After all, the flood could repeat itself at any time.
The damage in the affected houses amounted to 150,000 euros plus 70,000 euros in damage to household items. Together that amounts to 5.3 million euros in the entire settlement. Those affected could not hope for emergency aid from the hardship fund of the Free State of Bavaria, estimates Franz Wunschik: "That doesn't work for any of us." The repair of the damage would tear a huge hole in the budget of the residents, but the "economic existence." “Am not threatened. And according to the application documents, that is a prerequisite for emergency aid.
Therefore, those affected now hope that the donations will be paid out to the district account (see article below).
“That won't be much per capita, but it helps - that sounds banal now, all winter clothes were in the basement, now we have to buy new shoes and clothes for the children,” says Ascher.
Those affected are afraid of new floods from heavy rain.
“The Seebach must be cleaned immediately so that it can flow again,” says Wunschik and shows the latest photos.
"The water has been accumulating here since the tidal wave." The first step is therefore to maintain the stream.
Civil engineering department manager Jürgen Dietrich promised this immediately at a crisis meeting in Dorfen's town hall on Wednesday.
In addition, a missing earth wall is being built.
So far, the city of Dorfen has not taken any immediate measures to secure the houses on the Seebach against future floods, complain the residents. The criticism of Mayor Heinz Grundner grew louder and louder. Now a group of those affected around Ascher has sought a conversation with the city administration. "I want to put it carefully - the result was constructive," said Ascher after the meeting.
They sat together at the table for a good two hours, tell the delegates from Oberdorf.
“Something is finally moving, even if not to the extent that we would like - and only six weeks after the disaster,” sums up Wunschik.
