Feminicide of Mérignac: Chahinez's ex-spouse sets his cell on fire and attacks prison guards

The man in his forties is accused of having burned his partner alive in Mérignac (Gironde). A procedure has been opened against him.

The spouse of Chahinez Daoud, burned alive in Mérignac (Gironde), near Bordeaux, incarcerated in the remand center of Agen (Lot-et-Garonne) since the end of his indictment for intentional homicide, was involved in a serious incident.

According to France Bleu Gironde, he would have triggered the establishment's fire alarm last Tuesday after trying to set his cell on fire.

He also allegedly attacked the guards who had come to extract him from his cell, which was on fire.

Transferred to a psychiatric hospital

After this incident, Mounir Boutaa was placed in another cell.

According to Southwest, he would have demanded his prayer rug.

A request to which the prison administration could not respond favorably, which would have triggered the wrath of the forties.

He was then transferred to the psychiatric hospital in Agen then in that of Cadillac, in Gironde.

Proceedings were opened against him for destruction or damage by dangerous means.

Mounir Boutaa had already been sentenced to 18 months in prison a year ago for "willful violence on a spouse", already against Chahinez Daoud. Since this case, many flaws have been revealed in the judicial follow-up of this man. According to Le Canard Enchaîné, the police officer in charge of the case had himself been convicted of domestic violence in the past.
