The International Football Association (FIFA) announced today the new classification of the teams that will be officially adopted during the draw for the final round of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
On the official FIFA website, the current classification did not differ much from the previous one, as Japan and Iran came in the first level, the second level was Australia and South Korea, the third level was Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the fourth level was Iraq and China, the fifth was Oman and Syria, and the sixth was Vietnam and Lebanon.
The draw will take place on the first of next month at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation via video link, where 12 teams will compete to reach the World Cup in Qatar. A group in the continental play-off and the winner of them will meet the fourth CONCACAF in the world play-off.
