(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 13 APR - Fincantieri, ArcelorMittal Italia (AMI) and Paul Wurth Italia (PWI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the possible realization of a project aimed at the reconversion of the existing integral cycle of AMI's Taranto steel plant according to ecologically compatible technologies.
In particular, PWIT technology supplier whose plant engineering culture derives from a historical company such as Italimpianti, will be responsible for verifying the technical feasibility of the implementation of new technologies in the existing plant to improve the environmental impact and will define the inputs necessary for the economic feasibility analysis.
AMI, on the other hand, as manager of the industrial site, will be responsible for verifying the production feasibility of the new technological solutions and the related economic / regulatory / legal impacts.
Finally, Fincantieri, able to operate as a general contractor in the civil, structural, environmental, plant, electronic and maintenance sectors, will verify the feasibility of the projects, with particular reference to investments, timing, management costs, with a view to integrating the different activities. by projectmanagement.
The agreement includes the identification of innovative projects for the containment of emissions and activities for the study and development of new joint business models, such as the creation of high-strength steels for the production of ships and large infrastructures, as well as the supply of steel.
