Beirut-Sana
A large fire broke out in the pine woods between the towns of Qabia and Shabaniyah in the Matn area, northeast of Beirut, at dawn today.
The Lebanese National News Agency stated that the owners of Lebanese army tanks and helicopters, owners of agricultural lands and civil defense teams are working to extinguish the fire, which has expanded its spread due to the speed of the hot eastern winds, indicating that it arrived near the houses in the town of Shabaniyah.
In addition, a large fire broke out in the woodlands of the town of Ain El-Delba in Keserwan and extended to the outskirts of the town of Mayrouba, and firefighting teams in the civil defense and army teams in the area rushed to the place to help extinguish the fire that threatens if it extends to the Jabal Moussa reserve.
Several fires broke out yesterday in the south and Akkar, and destroyed large areas of fruit and forest trees.
