On the outskirts of the village of Belin-Béliet (Gironde) surrounded by flames, two Dash planes have just dropped their ten tons of retardant products just above our heads.
They targeted the right flank of the wall of flames which progresses in the heart of a fir forest.
It is barely 4 p.m. and the sky has darkened with a black veil, tinged with gray by the smoke and orange due to the blaze which has devoured 6,200 hectares of forest in just 24 hours.
