A new era begins for the Curevac employees in Tübingen: For the first time ever, a workforce representative is being elected at the biotech company.
Tübingen - The around 900 employees at Curevac AG and Curevac Real Estate GmbH in Tübingen are electing a works council for the first time today.
According to information from IG Bergbau Chemie und Energie, 29 candidates are standing for election.
A 13-member works council is elected.
The works council is elected for around four years.
The next works council elections are therefore planned for 2026.
Co-determination structures are not a matter of course in biotech companies, said an IG BCE spokeswoman.
The fact that, after Biontech, works council elections can now also be initiated at Curevac is an important sign.
