The Mayor and the manager of the technical office of the Municipality of Opera (Milan), as well as three building contractors, held responsible - for various reasons - for embezzlement, corruption for an act contrary to official duties, disturbed freedom of the choice procedure of the contractor, were arrested this morning by the Carabinieri. Among the offenses also the burying of waste in the South Milan Agricultural Park.
Antonino Nucera would also have improperly provided masks to family members and municipal employees who were friends when they were not found during the pandemic. "The mayor of Opera - reads a note from the Arma investigators - in the first months of the pandemic, distributed 2,000 surgical masks to close relatives and municipal employees that were intended for nursing homes and pharmacies".
