You should read this: The Greek government announced today (Tuesday) that Israelis seeking to vacation in the country will be forced not only to present a negative corona test, but to be tested again in Greece itself.



As part of the Greek government's efforts to combat the rise in morbidity in the Mediterranean island nation recently, the Greek Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) has announced a number of new guidelines for all landers in the country, to be implemented from today until midnight on September 15.

The set date is before Rosh Hashanah, but it is not known how the morbidity rates in Greece will develop and whether the test date will be extended into October and Sukkot.



According to the Greek Aviation Authority, passengers arriving in Greece from Israel must present a negative corona test up to 72 hours before arrival.

However, residents who live in Israel regularly will have to repeat the corona detection test in Greece, subject to the tourist limit that can enter from Israel, which currently stands at 1,200 people per week and only at the airports of Athens, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Corfu and Kos.

Direct flights from Tel Aviv to Corfu

The aggravation regarding the rules of entry into Greece does not only apply to Israel.

For example, the suspension of flights between Greece and Turkey has been extended and flights from Catalonia in Spain have also been suspended.



Greece has banned entry from non-EU countries, with the exception of Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Thailand, Thailand , The United Arab Emirates and Israel of course (from the last two tourists are required to present negative corona tests upon entry).



A tourist who has violated the guidelines of the Greek Civil Aviation Authority is expected to pay a fine of 5,000 euros.
