Following a protest that arose on the Internet against the planned performances at the Indingev Festival by musician Atar Meiner and the white screen band, the festival announced today (Sunday) that their performances are canceled.
A protest against Meiner appeared after allegations on the net that the musician allegedly sexually harassed and mentally and physically abused a musician in 2018. A woman on the white screen also posted allegations of sexual harassment on the network.
The Indingev people posted a message on their Facebook page today stating: "We took a moment to answer and examine the facts and respond to things in a considered manner. A very important discussion took place here and we have no interest in silencing it, on the contrary. And ignore on the one hand but also with accuracy in details and truth as it is.However, it is also important to say that there were a lot of inaccuracies in the way things are presented, this discourse deteriorates too quickly into a decisive and vociferous discourse, where things quickly get out of context Not the way we think.
"We update that in recent days we have had conversations with the artists and decided that the performances in question will not take place at this year's festival. "We have never had a drop of tolerance for violence of any kind, as evidenced by the tens of thousands of people who have spent time in Indingev over the past 15 years. We are actively working to allow audiences a safe space to dive into music all these years."
Atar Meiner's response, quoted in Indingev's post: "I truly believe we came for art and to absorb art."

In January last year, a musician named Natalie Mozes claimed in an Instagram story series that she had been subjected to "physical and mental harassment" by Mater Meiner.
She called him a "narcissistic and violent abuser" and a "sexual predator" and further claimed that his injury to her caused her, among other things, a tear in her ear.
According to her, in 2018 he caused her a "terrible nightmare" that has since tarnished her life.
Moses wrote about her relationship with Meiner: "It was not a long relationship, but a short affair (thank God). Even so, it was enough to get me down on my knees, take everything away from me, and put me in a situation where I had to flee Israel to be saved. "My life (after only three months since I moved there). I left with a physical tear in my left ear, a broken spirit, suicidal thoughts and suicide attempts, and a post-traumatic stress disorder that greatly affected my life."
That same year she directed and filmed a clip of Meiner's song, "I Never Stopped," claiming "it's a surreal experience to continue to be abused by him even today, two years later, while I'm on the other side of the world. I can no longer sit still while this sexual predator continues to dodge "From this behavior, without bearing the consequences and beyond, he receives a lot of positive recognition in Israel. He never apologized or took responsibility for his actions, which cost me physically, mentally and financially. And it makes me feel that he is still a danger to other women."
In response, Meiner wrote on his Facebook page: "Yesterday I received articles following the story of a girl living in America that I went out with a short time more than two years ago when she was in the country. In the Story series she accuses me of mental and physical abuse. "Abuse, harm to women and blaming the victim, I try to be as alert as I can to the situation and it hurts and frustrates me to hear about women who have been abused of any kind. When she was in the country we were in a short relationship that did not develop, I never mentally or physically abused her."
A woman also posted allegations on the white screen of members of the network that she had been sexually harassed.
The reactions of Atar Meiner and the White Screen Band to the allegations have not yet been received.
