Football: Red Star, stop or for Beye?

2021-10-16T14:57:53.773Z

The FFF will refuse the exemption requested by the Red Star who will therefore have to pay a fine until the end of the season if Habib Beye remains on the

Habib Beye will lead his 5th match on the Red Star bench this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Chambourcy (D3 Yvelines) for the 5th Tour of the Coupe de France.

This may be his last as a head coach.

The time to comply with the regulations by having a coach with the BEPF - a diploma that Beye is preparing this season - is coming to an end.

From next week, the Red Star will have to pay a fine of 3,000 euros per game if Beye remains on the bench.

The leaders of the Red Star have requested a waiver from the FFF.

If Beye had been present at the club for at least twelve months, she would have been accepted.

But the ex-pro and consultant on Canal + only arrived in June at the Red Star.

The exemption will therefore be refused by the FFF.

Audonian leaders are awaiting official notification, likely early next week, to determine their strategy.

But they should ask for a new waiver, namely to obtain a new deadline to come into compliance.

He has the locker room membership

The hypothesis of seeing Beye continue also remains possible.

After the defeat against Villefranche (0-1) for his first match on September 17, he had yet firmly dismissed.

But even if starting his coaching career in a division as complicated as the National presents a great deal of risk, that he has a busy schedule between Canal + and the preparation of the BEPF, Beye would have taken the game. latest results (6-0 at Avranches, 12 goals scored in 3 games) and the services provided by his team, show that he has received support from his locker room.

More profitable to pay the fines than a new coach?

His change of system (3 central defenders) and some adjustments (the offensive Bosca recoiled in piston) have borne fruit. On a daily basis, the group appreciates its proximity and its sense of dialogue. The exchanges are much more frequent than with Vincent Bordot. It is therefore he who now has the cards in hand. Because the leaders seem ready to pay the fines which could also be lower in total than paying the salary (with the charges) of a new trainer.

But the reality is also that the Red Star struggled to attract a coach who matched their expectations.

Most of the coaches who were at the top of his short-list like Oswald Tanchot, Mathieu Chabert, Fabien Mercadal or Réginald Ray have declined.

Some did not see themselves working with an assistant like Habib Beye, who inevitably occupies an important space.

If he decides to continue, the staff will be reinforced by a new assistant.

Otherwise, the Red Star will have to agree with a new coach.

Daniel Vignes (ex-Pau, Bergerac), Johan Gallon (ex-Granville) and a foreign trainer are still among the applicants.
