Borussia Dortmund achieved a 4-2 (2-0) home win over Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
BVB initially benefited from a dream goal by Raphaël Guerreiro (10th minute), Erling Haaland increased (24th), then Union captain Marvin Friedrich made it 3-0 with an own goal (52nd).
The guests came again through Max Kruse (58th / penalty) and Andreas Voglsammer (80th).
Haaland made everything clear with his second goal (83rd).
For both clubs, the duel was the end of an English week: While Champions League participants Dortmund won in Istanbul, Union lost to Slavia Prague in the Conference League.
The guests - so far unbeaten in the league - got off to a supposedly perfect start.
Not a minute was played when Taiwo Awoniyi shocked BVB, but the Union attacker was too far ahead on the last pass of the previous ball relay (1st).
The offside prevented a false start for the favorite, who took the lead with a technically beautiful goal: Left-footed Guerreiro hit the right corner of the goal over Andreas Luthe (10th).
The second goal resulted from a Berlin loss of the ball, Mats Hummels was the conqueror, Thomas Meunier the flank giver from the right - and Haaland in the middle of the header taker (24th).
The Dortmund team let their opponent run with very high possession values, the best Berlin combination could have resulted in a goal, but Awoniyi's volley from around ten meters ended up in touch (38th).
Kruse hits from the point
Shortly after the break, Union captain Friedrich had bad luck, he maneuvered a cross from Marco Reus into his own goal (52nd).
BVB showed a defensive stability that was not noticeable in the past few weeks.
A foul by Axel Witsel, which after the intervention of the video referee led to a penalty and a goal by the executing Kruse, clouded the picture (58th).
Gregor Kobel fended off a hard, but too unplaced shot from Julian Ryerson (67th), but after a corner and Voglsammer's header he looked a bit unhappy (80th).
The growing nervousness among BVB fans subsided when Haaland sensationally took a long ball from Hummels out of the air and lifted it into the net via Luthe (83rd).
Reus put the finishing touches with a shot from the post (86.)
Dortmund stays one point behind leaders Bayern Munich, Union Berlin is eighth.
