Nuremberg - After the European Championship game between Italy and Switzerland on Wednesday evening (June 16), a car parade at the Nuremberg * Plärrer degenerated slightly.

A police officer was injured by a firecracker and a 32-year-old was arrested.

After the end of the soccer game around 11 p.m., around 120 Italian soccer fans came together at the Plärrer to cheer for their team's victory, as the Police Headquarters Middle Franconia * wrote in a press release.

At the same time, a parade with around 30 vehicles formed around the Plärrer.  

The vehicles drove the Plärrer in a circle, observing the traffic rules.

However, people tried again and again to enter the street in an uncontrolled manner.

The police therefore blocked the driveway from Südliche Fürther Straße to Plärrer to ensure the safety of road users.

There was no major traffic obstruction because of the car parade.

Nuremberg: football fan ignites firecrackers and injures police officers 

Around midnight, the police asked the participants in the motorcade and passers-by to end the jubilee.

According to the press release, all persons behaved cooperatively and complied with the request.

Overall, the entire event was peaceful. 

Only a 32-year-old had to be arrested because he is suspected of having set off a firecracker.

Small parts of the firecracker were thrown around by the ignition and hit a police officer who was slightly injured as a result.

During the subsequent arrest, the 32-year-old insulted the officers and tried to evade police measures by force.

The man is now being investigated, among other things, on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm, assault on police officers and a violation of the Explosives Act.
