The United Nations' national security adviser, Sheikh Tahanun bin Zayed al-Nahian, will visit Iran tomorrow (Monday) for the first time since 2016, when the country downgraded its diplomatic relations with Tehran.

According to the Iranian agency, the adviser will arrive in Tehran following an official invitation from Admiral Ali Shimkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
According to the report, the senior emirate will meet with Shimkhani during the visit, in addition to other Iranian officials.
It is also written that he is expected to discuss the development and tightening of bilateral ties and consult on the latest developments in the region.
Last month, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bakri visited the United Arab Emirates.
Tahanun bin Zayed is the brother of the regent of Abu Dhabi and one of the top officials in the UAE.
