The Red Bull team changed the engine of the car of the Dutchman Max Verstappen.
This was announced this Sunday by Honda, the supplier of engines to the current leader of the Formula 1 World Championship, who will start third on the grid at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"During post-qualifying checks (Saturday) we noticed something in Max's power unit that could develop over the weekend, probably
a consequence of the Silverstone crash,
" Honda Racing wrote on Twitter.
"Therefore we changed it for a new power unit of the same specification. According to the regulations,
Max can start from his third position on the grid without penalty,
" added the Japanese brand before the start at 10 o'clock in Argentina.
A fortnight ago at the British GP at Silverstone, Verstappen and his World Championship pursuer Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) had
a crash on the first lap that caused a violent accident for the Dutchman
.
After the incident, Hamilton was penalized ten seconds, but still won the race, putting himself eight points behind Verstappen.
The Dutchman was not physically damaged
, although his car was destroyed.
Despite the incident, the engine continued to be used and overhauled after Friday's tests in Hungary.
Honda had announced that it was operating "normally".
