Almost four years after the fatal attack on a police officer on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, the main defendant has been sentenced to ten years in prison.
The court acquitted 31-year-old Nourredine Allam from the charge of terrorism.
Allam was charged with selling the Kalashnikov used in the act to the assassin Karim Cheurfi.
The prosecutor had asked for 18 years in prison.
Two co-defendants were sentenced to five and six years in prison for previously selling the gun to Allam.
Another accused was acquitted.
The Frenchman Cheurfi, with multiple criminal records, opened fire on a police car on the Champs-Elysées with the Kalashnikov on April 20.
One officer was killed and two others injured.
Cheurfi was shot dead by police after the crime.
Investigators found a pump gun and two large knives as well as ammunition in his car.
In addition, a slip of paper with a handwritten commitment to the jihadist militia "Islamic State" was found near his body.
