At the invitation of the local association of Free Voters in Geretsried (FW), District Administrator Josef Niedermaier publicly commented on the allegations that have come down to him because of the planned restructuring of the Wolfratshauser Kreisklinik - in a very factual way.

Geretsried - District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (Free Voters) did not come to the council chambers for the Geretsried citizens' meeting in May, which Mayor Michael Müller (CSU) criticized unusually harshly during the meeting.

Now, at the invitation of the Geretsried local association of Free Voters (FW), the district administrator took a public position in the council chambers on the allegations that have pounded on him from many sides over the past few weeks due to the planned restructuring of the Wolfratshauser Kreisklinik - in a very factual way.

FW local chairman supports the district administrator

The local chairwoman of the FW, Ann-Kathrin Güner, had previously supported Niedermaier in an emotional statement.

"I forbid myself from calling a district administrator who has been elected for the third time sneaky and corrupt," she said.

As reported, on Monday, July 26th, the 60-strong district council will decide on a moratorium on the clinic discussion.

Niedermaier, head of the supervisory board of Kreisklinik gGmbH, announced in Geretsried that the committee should decide at the same time that the two hospital locations in Bad Tölz and Wolfratshausen will remain.

It just needs to be clear to Wolfratshausen: “There won't be any more things like this.” After the federal elections in September, Niedermaier believes that the first thing that will happen is a cash fall.

Then the health system will also come back to the test.

Oversupply with hospital beds

There are already too many hospitals in Germany. In the Munich area there is also an oversupply of hospital beds. As a patient, you have a choice and use it. "We don't always go to the hospital that is closest to us," said the district administrator. In order to make the smaller houses in Bad Tölz and Wolfratshausen future-proof, they would have to specialize. Only then would they have a chance at the same time to be able to offer the basic services that are important for the district citizens - because basic services alone are paid less and less by law. A specially founded steering committee is therefore thinking about how this can be achieved in Wolfratshausen with the help of a strategic partner. Niedermaier did not use the word "privatization". But he emphasized:"We will not sell the location."

In response to the numerous protests, letters to the editor and allegations of the past few weeks, he did not comment every time because "it would have been at the expense of the Wolfratshauser Klinik".

Niedermaier fears that the patients would have stayed away.

For this reason, he also canceled his visit to the Geretsried town hall at short notice.

“When we smash each other's heads, as we do now, others are happy.

But not the Asklepios Clinic in Tölz.

It also carries collateral damage, ”believes the district administrator.

He is the last to run away from something ("I have a big hump"), but at the moment he is keeping his mouth shut until there is reliable future prospects for the two clinics in the circle.
