(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 18 - The global economy is facing a "deep recession" this year, with a "partial and uneven" recovery in 2021. And even if the response of the G20 countries has prevented an even more severe economic shock from the pandemic, there remains the risk of "a lasting injury to the economy and the economy, in particular waves of bankruptcy, risks of financial instability, high unemployment and increasing inequalities".
This was stated by the IMF general manager KristalinaGeorgieva at the end of the financial G20. "The public health response remains the number one priority to protect people, jobs and economic activity", followed by "supportive fiscal and monetary policies". (HANDLE).
