Joe Bidenche is confronted with the landlord Boris Johnson and the Canadian premier Justin Trudeau to promote tougher measures to confine China, the European Union and its leaders, in particular Mario Draghi and Angela Merkel, are more cautious and interested in emphasizing the possible areas of cooperation with Beijing. The American media reported this, citing sources from the US administration, according to which there was an "interesting discussion with differences of opinion". The point, they add, is not so much about the threat posed by China but about how to react. Among the hypotheses discussed, the creation of a task force on China. It is here that Chancellor Merkel would have stressed the need for a task force centered on a 'agenda that focuses on climate and trade.
