The demonstrations at the 2022 G7 summit in Elmau were mostly peaceful.

But four activists must now answer before a judge.

Munich – The G7 summit 2022 will take place in Elmau from June 26th to 28th.

Numerous people therefore took to the streets on Saturday, and the protests were mostly peaceful.

But the police accuse four activists of attacking officials and classifying them as dangerous bodily harm.

After the G7 demonstration in Munich, the four participants were initially detained on Sunday.

A judge should decide later today whether they should be held in custody, a police spokesman said.

Significantly fewer people than expected came to the G7 demonstration on Saturday in Munich.

In the run-up there was talk of more than 20,000 protesters, according to the police, around 4,000 participants actually came.

The organizers themselves spoke of around 6,000 activists.

According to official information, the Munich police deployed around 3,000 emergency services at the protest meeting against the G7 summit in Germany.

The background to the allegations of dangerous bodily harm against activists are clashes between demonstrators, who are assigned to a black block, and police officers at the rally on Saturday.

The police are investigating a total of six activists for violence against those in uniform.

Three of them are said to have hit the officers with a telescopic flagpole, others threw full plastic bottles or hit them with their hands.

According to the police, the argument broke out when a man wanted on an arrest warrant was arrested.

The officials put the total number of arrests during and after the demonstration at eleven; on Saturday there were initially nine arrests.

According to the police, three other demonstrators were arrested, who are said to have masked themselves.

In one case, a participant is said to have shown the Hitler salute.

In one case, the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office is also examining whether an officer may have committed a crime in his actions.
